I won a free massage from Angie Horton, LMT, several years ago and enjoyed the massage so much that I became a regular patient. I got busy one year and forgot to book my appointments and became very ill with the flu that year. For most of my life I
have suffered from chronic pain. On a scale of 1-10, I was almost always
a 10-12. In my mid twenties the pain had become completely unbearable
and was preventing me from caring for my family, staying awake all day
and standing up straight for that matter. Trying one treatment after
another, including Chiropractic, Relaxation Massage, Acupuncture,
Physical Therapy, Pain Medications, Antidepressants, Steroids, Rolfing,
you name it, nothing gave me relief for more than a few hours at a time.
In 1996 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. With this new diagnosis, the
constant pain, stiffness and inflammation began to make sense. However,
there was still no ongoing relief in sight. In September of 1998, I
began treatment at Massage Therapy of Winter Haven, P.A. We immediately
began to locate and treat the root causes of my pain and little by
little, I began to get my life back. Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue
Work, Myofascial Unwinding and periodic Herbal Wraps ended up being the
right combination of treatment for me. Amazingly enough, I am now able
to care for my family, work, stand up straight and live a pretty steady
